Karrie
meet
owner & principle designer

Born and raised in Tennessee, Karrie has spent the last 20 years helping clients create homes that are as personal as they are beautiful. Her design philosophy is rooted in the belief that every home should reflect the people who live there, balancing timeless style with thoughtful functionality.
While Karrie loves the creative side of design, it's the people behind every project who make this work so meaningful to her. From trusted vendors and talented craftsmen to her team and the families she designs for, she believes design is always a collaborative effort. Those relationships are the foundation of Smith Street Interiors and inspire the welcoming, intentional experience the firm strives to create.
For Karrie, those relationships are also what makes the creative process so exciting. Her favorite stage of every project is the very beginning; when ideas are just beginning to take shape, conversations spark new possibilities, and every detail has the potential to become something meaningful. Karrie believes the best designs begin with listening well, dreaming big, and creating spaces that truly feel like home.

Smith Street was more than a childhood home; it was the home where our owner and principal designer’s mother grew up alongside her eight siblings. It was a place where traditions formed, where family remained at the center of everyday life, and where memories continued to unfold long after childhood.
As the years passed, it became a home they would all continue returning to, bringing back children and families of their own. What began within those walls shaped not only our name, but also the foundation of how we view design today.

Chloe Boucher
interior designer
Chloe has been Karrie's right-hand woman for the past six years, helping guide projects from the very first conversation through the finishing touches. A graduate of O'More College of Architecture & Design, her love for interior design comes from dreaming big, solving problems, and creating homes that feel as good as they look.
Chloe's favorite part of every project is the beginning; the ideation phase. She loves collaborating with clients, exploring possibilities, and laying the foundation for spaces that are beautiful. For her, every great design starts with imagining what a home can become.
Her design style is warm, cozy, and full of character, blending timeless pieces with comfortable, lived-in details. She jokingly describes it as "modern grandma"—welcoming, collected, and, thanks to life at home, occasionally accompanied by a little dog hair.

Olivia Rubin
interior designer
After graduating from Auburn University in 2025, Olivia joined Smith Street Interiors full-time after interning with Karrie throughout college, confirming that interior design was where her creativity, problem-solving, and meaningful relationships could come together.
Design is more than a career for her, it's a creative outlet. She believes in the saying, "Do what you love, and you'll never work a day in your life," and brings that mindset to every project. She loves the freedom that design offers, finding joy in transforming ideas into spaces that feel original to every client.
Inspired by timeless interiors with an eclectic spirit, Olivia gravitates toward classic pieces that will stand the test of time, layered with unexpected details, color, and personality. She believes the most memorable homes are the ones that tell a story and reflect the people who live in them.
